From the article: "The Federal Communications Commission ruled today that Silicon Valley must follow the same rules of cross-ownership that have long applied to newspapers and local broadcasters. As a result, Google will have to drop either its text-based Google News or its video service YouTube. Likewise, Apple was told to choose between selling apps for its popular iPad device or selling music through iTunes. FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said, "Bandwidth is scarce, so the FCC must decide who can do what with it. We prefer more diversity among providers."
