From the article: "The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT will not pursue governance of the Nationwide Health Information Network, it revealed at yesterday's meeting of the Healthcare IT Policy Committee. National Coordinator for Health IT Farzad Mostashari, M.D….said the decision was made so as "not to hobble" exchange activities already in motion across the industry and the nation.
As for promotion of trusted exchange, Mostashari said that ONC will "shine a light on good practices" that support successful exchange. He added that ONC will use existing authorities to "provide guidance and tools around specific barriers to interoperability and exchange."" Read more
